How To Start Cleaning Your Garage

Although often a neglected part of the house, the garage still needs to be kept clean. Due to periodic cleaning, you will avoid piles of debris and accumulation of dirt. Cleaning the garage is not at all a difficult job that will take several days to complete. If you follow the tips, then in just a few hours, you can transform your garage.

How To Start Cleaning Your Garage

The first step to a clean garage is taking everything out. You should decide what you need to keep and what is just cluttering your place and can be through away, sold or donated. Based on statistics, 90% of the stuff is not used.

Those things that you leave to save should be put aside. Perhaps among the things taken out of the garage, there are those that you want to sell. In this case, you can combine business with pleasure and earn some extra money.

Keep plastic containers or large boxes handy, so you can immediately pack your items for disposal, storage, or sale.

Before you put the already disassembled things in their places, you should clean the garage. The garage should be cleaned from top to bottom.

Start at the top and work your way down. Use a broom to remove all the cobwebs from the ceiling. Check light fixtures, garage door hardware, and windows, then give it a good wipe-down.

Use a sponge mop to clean the garage walls from top to bottom. Then you can proceed to the floor. It must be swept first, then any oil, grease, or rust stains, if any, must be removed, and then the floor washed or hosed down. Allow the floor to dry for approximately 1 hour before putting things back in.
